What is an escape room?

You and your group get one hour to escape a themed room. Inside you’ll find a series of clues, puzzles, codes and locks to find, solve and unlock in order to discover the final solution and escape in time. Each of our rooms is custom-designed to be challenging, engaging and immersive.

Who will be in the room with us?

Just your group — every game is private. Your Game Master won’t be in the room with you, but they’ll be monitoring your experience on surveillance and can help you with clues throughout the game, should you need it.

How many players do we need?

A minimum of 2 players is required for most rooms. If you’d like to play on your own, payment for 2 tickets is still required. Each room has a specified capacity that varies by room and location.

How do I make a reservation?

Book online — click Book Now and pick your location, game and time — or book over the phone. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. If you’d like a hand, call your location and we’ll help. By playing, all players agree to the terms of our waiver.

How early should we arrive?

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled game time. When you arrive, your group gets its required pre-game instructions and then your game time begins. If you arrive late, you’ll have less time to play — the game’s end time doesn’t change. Adding players? Pay for them by phone before you arrive to avoid check-in delays.

How much does it cost?

1-hour games are $31.99 per player (ages 6 and up). Applicable sales tax and a $4.25 processing fee per booking (not per player) may apply. Parking is free.

Are there any discounts or specials?

Accepted Answer

Yes — 10% off Sunday–Thursday with code WEEKDAY10, a 10% military discount with valid ID (book by phone), and large-group discounts: book 2 full rooms for 10% off, 3 for 15%, 4 for 20% and 5 or more for 25%. Large groups must be booked by phone, and discounts can’t be combined with other offers.

How long is a game?

Every game is 60 minutes. Plan to arrive 15 minutes early so we can check you in and give your pre-game briefing before the clock starts.

What if we get stuck?

Your Game Master monitors your game on surveillance and provides clues when requested — whenever you need them. They’re there to help your team have a great experience.

Are the rooms scary? Any special effects?

Some games use special effects like fog machines, and some have tighter spaces or require crouching or crawling between rooms. Several rooms lean suspenseful — The Attic, Cabin in the Woods, The Shed, Motel Room 13 and Dead by Dawn — while Wizard’s Curse, Dragon’s Spell, Haunted Inn and Graveyard Escape are great for families and first-timers. If you have any sensitivities or physical restrictions, call before booking and we’ll help you pick the right room.

What’s the age policy?

Our games are designed to challenge adults, but kids make great detectives too. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult, and players under 18 need a parent or guardian to complete the online waiver before arriving (or one can be completed on arrival).

What’s your cancellation policy?

All reservations and sales are final. No refunds are given for late, missed, or canceled reservations. Should your group need to reschedule or cancel for any reason, 48-hour notice must be provided in order to receive a store credit on your Sherlock’s customer account, and a $25 cancellation/rescheduling fee per room will apply for any canceled or rescheduled games.

Are the rooms accessible?

Our facilities are handicap accessible, though not all of the props or the entirety of every room are — portions of The Attic and The Shed are not accessible. Should you need assistance during your game, our Game Masters will be happy to help; call us for details on specific room accommodations.

Can we bring pets?

For the comfort, health and safety of all our guests, pets aren’t permitted — but certified service animals are welcome; please let us know in advance when possible.

Yes — we can host small and large groups; call to book anything that needs more than one room. Our Dallas (Farmers Branch) and Fort Worth locations also have a party room you can reserve before or after your game — call for reservations.

Can I purchase a gift card?

Accepted Answer

Yes — an adventure at Sherlock’s makes a great gift. Head to our Gift Cards page, pick your location, and choose the amount and quantity. Gift cards never expire, and any unused balance can be used later; taxes are applied when the card is redeemed. Cards are valid only at the location they’re bought for — except Northern Kentucky cards, which work at both Florence and Cold Spring. No refunds, cash exchange, or use on merchandise or other gift cards.
